For 2019, Chevy has replaced last year’s six-speed automatic transmission with a new CVT. This change seeks to improve the Malibu’s already impressive fuel economy. Drivers seeking enhanced performance should check out the Premier model. Its larger turbocharged four-cylinder engine develops an exciting 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Unlike the other trims, the Malibu Premier uses a nine-speed automatic transmission.

New headlights and taillights give the 2019 Malibu a sharper look. Chevy has also introduced a new RS appearance package, which features a blacked-out grille and special set of 18-in. wheels. The 2019 and 2018 models provide the same amount of interior room, but you can take advantage of the 2019's 15.8 cu-ft. trunk. While the 2018 Chevy features a MyLink infotainment system, the 2019 comes with the new Infotainment 3. Aside from providing AppleCarPlay and Android Auto, this new interface responds to swiping gestures. Furthermore, every driver will now benefit from a rear-view camera.
